Preschool Camp

Just in case you were wondering what my latest obsession is... Willy Wonka!  The songs from the new Willy Wonka in particular... It's going on 3 weeks now of total obsession.. mom keeps reminding herself "this will pass"...

 

Monday morning I was so excited!  It was preschool camp week!

I was so in my element!  I never cried or fussed and I got to spend the week getting to know Ms. Stephanie (my teacher this year) a little better AND I got to see Miss Michelle!

Camp was based on the Richard Scary books "Our Busy Busy Town"... on this day we made pizza and set up our own pizza shop!

We had signs and a cash register and everything!

Thursday was splash day...

Friday morning we took Mabel to get her staples out (YAY!)...

and then we headed to the Trophy Club pool with Bella...

The slide was our favorite!

Sunday morning we headed over to the new splash pad at Dove Park...

Splash pads are much more fun with goggles!

Sleeping Beauty & A Car Wreck

On the Friday after 4th of July we headed to Oh Look Peform! to see Sleeping Beauty...

She is my FAVORITE princess these days!

We met Bella and Shelley at the theater to enjoy the show together...

We are such big girls we got to sit on a row without our mommies!

After the show we got to stay for tea and cookies with the cast... Flora, Fauna & Merryweather...

Saturday morning we went swimming...

and after a quick shower we headed out to dinner...

It was so beautiful after dinner that we went to a new park by our house...

 

and on the way home we got in a car accident. :(  We were going across 377 (into our neighborhood) on a green light when a guy ran the red light and took the front end off of the car... mom & dad's air bags deployed, but luckily we are ok and so is the guy who hit us...

Mommy's car is not ok...

We even had ambulances and fire trucks!

Here is mommy's car when she dropped it off at the repair shop... we should get it back soon after they complete $11,000 worth of damages!  We miss our car terribly, but we are lucky to have a rental to get us around town...

Just one more...

Swimming post... I'm now swimming across the pool with mommy and I even started coming up for a breath and continuing to swim today.  I say it's "scary" but I said that about going under 2 weeks ago!

Learning to Swim...

So until June 29th I refused to put my head under water... a little girl who was about 2 1/2 was at the pool that day and going under and I finally decided to try it.  Remember?

Here I am a week into swimming after watching Sophia do dive sticks...

Well on Sunday we were at the pool and a little girl who is my age was swimming the stairs and I decided to give that a try...


and then I was willing to do some assisted swimming with daddy... This is 10 days from the first day I put my head under the water...

 

I practiced on Monday with daddy and by Tuesday I was swimming even more confidently...

 

and by the time we went home I was doing this...

 

and this...

 

 

and today my progress continued... I even started swimming to the wall and then pushing off the wall to swim back to mommy... she even got me to swim across the pool a couple of times by letting me grab her hand in the middle to take a breath and then I would drop back underneath and swim to the wall. 

Daddy wants to know if he can get a refund on the swim lessons I am starting next week... but we've decided to just let me go and see what else I can learn.  I am SUCH an excited swimmer!  I have swam almost 2 hours a day every day this week!

4th of July Part II...

One of the great things about doing fireworks on July 3rd, is you get to sleep in and take it easy on July 4th!

Which we did... we headed to the pool (which was actually REALLY cold)...

and then we headed out to Nana and PopPop's house because the London Forts were in town...

I love going to see Nana and PopPop!

After dinner we realized one of Nana's decorations was casting rainbows around the living room... so I had fun chasing them...
