Sunday's extra special surprise?
A birthday party...
But even more exciting a tea party (featuring, can you see who is on my shirt and skirt?)...
and even more exciting? An Alice in Wonderland Tea Party hosted by the Mad Hatter!!!
The birthday girl Sophia. Our mommies have been friends since Sophia was itty bitty...
Trying to stand proper like her...
The party was held at the Gaylord Texan resort which is having a wonderful Alice in Wonderland celebration this summer (did you know that mommy played Alice her senior year of high school? And has an elaborate Alice collection?)...
The Queen of Hearts made an appearance (I have decided she is Snow White's sister)...
and then the festivities began. We got to decorate our own cupcakes!
and we had awesome hats!
We were suppose to wait until they sang happy birthday (about 20 minutes after cupcakes were put in front of us, but as you can imagine I was halfway done by then)...
Miss Rachel and her girls...
Feeding daddy...
and mommy...
Do you see the size of that cupcake? It's HUGE!
a little for the camera too...
The Mad Hatter performed magic tricks (how beautiful are the decorations?)...
and I just continued to eat icing...
More magic...
When did my hair get this long and this blonde?
Plate spinning...
and he even had a white rabbit!
My reaction to the rabbit...
Mommy & Miss Rachel...
The birthday girl and the rabbit...
After the festivities we walked around the Gaylord to burn off some energy...
Aren't we cute?
I look as guilty as those spades!
The enormous tea set!
We rode the glass elevator up and down a few times to watch the people...
and I wanted to go back and see the sand sculpture again...
I got a little too close to the trains...
and took one last picture with mommy in front of the caterpillar...
If you love Alice in Wonderland (or you are looking for something to do on a hot day), go check this out! The tea party is open to the public and reservations can be made online, they also have breakfast with the characters and the characters walk around every day (we missed them). We will be going back to visit them soon. The theme continues through the rest of the summer.
Happy Birthday Sophia! We had a blast!
