This morning mommy and I got up bright and early and headed south on I-35 to Waco to see Emerson and her mommy Tara. Tara teaches school during the year, so we are hoping to get together a few times before school starts again this fall.
Here we are at the start of our trip (sleepy from the drive)...
Mom made us some custom shirts...
We have very few pictures from the beginning of the zoo because once again mom's auto focus was not on and she wasn't paying attention...
I did love these turtles...
Emme and I checked out the alligator and our mommies sang the Alligator song to us (a new family favorite!)
Checking out the bears...
Our favorite part of the zoo was the otter slide... it's glass and takes you through the otter's exhibit so you can see them underwater... I don't think we ever saw the otters, but we didn't care!
How cute are the names on the back of our shirts???
First we went down together...
Then Emme got brave and went down on her tummy...
"Whhheee..."
Can you see the water around me?
Peekaboo mommy!
Next we found a porcupine trying to escape... he was scratching at his door like my cat does!
and an elephant...
If you look back at the slide pictures you'll see a little 2 year old boy in a red shirt... well he came up and shoved me (seriously out of nowhere)... after the "attack" Emme decided she needed to hold my hand so we could protect each other...
We held hands for the next 5 minutes and mommy took pictures the entire time...
We stopped to look at some birds...
and pledged our friendship to each other...
There really is a special bond between us...
Birthday twins...
I think I may have been trying to get Emme to dance at this point...
Despite the glaring heat our mommies decided to venture out from behind the cameras and take pictures with us...
to prove they were actually there...
then we stopped for Cherry Chills... yummo!
We faded quickly after that and headed to Chick-Fil-A for lunch...
Emme finally started warming up to mommy...
and we considered holding hands again...
after we finished lunch we got to play on the playscape...
SO FUN!
Emme and I tried to drive the playscape home...
and ventured to the top of the playscape to go down the big slide...
Coming down...
It was a HUGE slide!
and yes... mommy went up with us to chaperon...
Happy girl ready for her long car ride home!
Can't wait to see you again Emme! We had a blast today! To see more pictures from our day, check out Emerson's blog!
